Ikea

For the IKEA store in Berlin Tempelhof, innerfields developed a large-scale mural that reflects the distinctive world of IKEA without relying on traditional advertising elements such as the IKEA logo or typography. The familiar IKEA colors were the only direct visual reference available for the design.

Rather than simply depicting the furniture store, innerfields translated typical elements of the IKEA world into its own playful visual language. One figure presents a kind of „furniture dandelion,“ with pieces of furniture dispersing like seeds in all directions. Another figure rearranges furniture on a chessboard, playing with the ideas of furnishing, combining, and continuously reorganizing spaces.

The mural makes the brand recognizable primarily through its color palette and familiar themes of living and interior design, without naming it directly. The result is an independent visual world that subtly references IKEA while clearly carrying the artistic signature of innerfields.
