The Great Wall

“The Great Wall” was one of innerfields’ last commercial murals and, at the time, the largest mural in Berlin. The movie poster was reproduced across nearly 1,000 square meters, a scale that provided the perfect opportunity to bring together some of the very best commercial mural painters and treat the project as a shared celebration of painting.

The entire motif was completed by nine artists in just five days. The surface was so large that each artist took responsibility for a specific section, from areas of skin and fire to large crowds of people. Only through the combination of these individual areas did the complete image come together.

For innerfields, the project was therefore more than just another commercial commission. It became a kind of collective high point: coming together once more, working side by side, learning from one another, and celebrating both the mural and the people behind it.
